Don't Forget to Complete Your Continuing Education

With the annual renewal period now officially open, the Louisiana Real Estate Commission would like to remind all licensees renewing in the active status of their continuing education requirements.
All licensees renewing in the active status must complete twelve (12) hours of approved continuing education coursework, including any LREC mandatory course topic(s), before December 31 each year. Failure to complete the required continuing education by December 31 will be considered a violation of LREC law and rules and will be subject to a fine citation.
What are the 2025 Mandatory Courses?
Mandatory course topics must be completed through an approved LREC-certified real estate vendor on or before December 31 as part of the 12-hour continuing education requirement. The mandatory course topics for 2025 are:
2025 Mandatory – Navigating the New Normal (this course must be taken by BOTH active salespersons and brokers renewing in the active status).
2025 Mandatory Commercial Alternate – The Appraisal Process (this course may be taken by BOTH active salespersons and brokers as a substitution for the 2025 Mandatory – Navigating the New Normal).
Please note there is NO broker-specific mandatory course requirement in 2025.
Important Note: Licensees may renew their license prior to completing their continuing education requirement. However, the education requirement must be completed by the December 31 deadline to avoid violating LREC laws and rules and becoming subject to fines.
If you have any questions about the continuing education requirement, please contact the LREC’s education division via email at education@lrec.gov.
