Don’t Forget to Complete Your CE Requirements by December 31

September 15, 2025

The Louisiana Real Estate Commission (LREC) reminds all licensees renewing in the active status that their continuing education (CE) must be completed by December 31, 2025.

Active licensees are required to complete 12 hours of approved CE coursework each year, which includes any mandatory topics set by the Commission. Failure to complete CE requirements by the deadline is a violation of LREC laws and rules and may result in fines.

For 2025, the mandatory course options are:

  • Navigating the New Normal – required for all active salespersons and brokers.
  • Commercial Alternate: The Appraisal Process – may be taken as a substitute for the above course.

Please note that there is no broker-specific mandatory course in 2025.

Licensees can renew their license before completing CE hours, but all coursework must be finished by December 31 to avoid penalties.

Check your education transcript anytime in the MyLREC Portal at https://portal.lrec.gov. If courses are missing from your transcript, remember that vendors have until the 15th of the following month to report attendance. For courses taken more than a month ago that do not appear, please contact the vendor directly.

For questions, email education@lrec.gov.
