The Commission extends its sincere appreciation to Commissioner Theodore "Ted" Major as he concludes his tenure on the Commission in July 2026 after six years of dedicated service.

Commissioner Major was sworn into office during the September 2020 Commission meeting by then-Chairman Rick Roberts. Since that time, he has faithfully served the Commission with professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the public interest.

A longtime Louisiana real estate professional with more than 40 years of industry experience, Major brought valuable knowledge and perspective to the Commission's work. In 2025, his fellow commissioners elected him to serve as Secretary, reflecting the confidence and respect he earned among his peers.

Beyond his official responsibilities, Commissioner Major will be remembered for the compassion and encouragement he brought to every meeting. He faithfully delivered the invocation at the beginning of Commission meetings, offering thoughtful prayers that reflected his deep faith and genuine care for the Commission, its staff, and the people of Louisiana. His steady leadership, wisdom, and willingness to serve others have left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

The Commission extends its heartfelt gratitude to Commissioner Major for his years of dedicated service. His guidance, compassion, and leadership will be greatly missed, and we wish him continued success and many blessings in the years ahead.

UPDATE: During the Commission’s August 2026 meeting, Chair Synde Devillier presented Commissioner Major with a plaque commemorating his service on the Commission.
