A Message from LREC Chairman Joe Pappalardo, Jr.
I am honored to serve as the 2025 Chairman of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission (LREC) and to continue the Commission’s mission of serving and protecting the public interest in real estate transactions and other real estate-related activities. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Commissioner Paula Duncan for her leadership as Chairman in 2024. Her dedication and hard work have been invaluable, and I look forward to building on the foundation she has laid.
As Chairman, my goal is to further LREC’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and education. We accomplish this by maintaining a tradition of open government, ensuring the fair and equitable administration and enforcement of the Louisiana Real Estate License Law and Commission Rules and Regulations, and fostering the development of progressive education programs that promote industry knowledge, ethics, and professional advancement.
In 2025, a key focus of the Commission will be updating Mandatory Forms that play a critical role in real estate transactions. This year, our standardized forms committee will be reviewing and revising the Louisiana Residential Agreement to Buy or Sell and the Residential Property Disclosure document to ensure they remain clear, effective, and aligned with industry needs. Because these forms impact both licensees and consumers, we want to hear from you. In the coming months, the Commission will be reaching out for feedback and suggestions to help shape these updates. The comment and feedback period will be available for all brokers and salespersons to submit any revisions they would like to see discussed by the standardized forms committee.
I look forward to working alongside my fellow Commissioners, industry professionals, and all of you to ensure that LREC continues to uphold its mission and strengthen Louisiana’s real estate industry. Thank you for your commitment to professionalism and excellence—I am excited for what’s ahead!
