In accordance with Act 553 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session, all initial license applicants AND current salespersons upgrading to a broker license shall be required to complete a fingerprint-based criminal history review conducted by the Louisiana State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

ORDERING YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK

Effective November 6, 2023, LREC now utilizes a new statewide applicant processing system for criminal background checks. Applicants can now schedule an appointment to digitally capture their fingerprints at any IdentoGO location.

Please note: If you are unable to physically visit an IdentoGO location to take advantage of the “Livescan” digital technology, you may mail a fingerprinting card obtained from local law enforcement to the IdentoGO offices. See the out-of-state submission requirements below for more details.

To begin the process, visit https://uenroll.identogo.com/, and use the following unique service code: 27N4TH. The code allows the system to identify the agency for which the applicant is requesting the background check.

Select “Schedule or Manage an Appointment” to make an appointment at an IdentoGO location of your choosing.

When you arrive for your appointment, you shall bring one of the required forms of identification to verify your identity. Identification must be valid, not expired, and contain a photograph of the applicant.

Payment will be made directly to IdentoGO for this service. Applicants may pay by debit/credit card, check, or money order. The processing fee for the state and federal digital fingerprint submission will be $60.75.

Once you have completed the appointment, your fingerprints will be electronically and securely submitted to Louisiana State Police for processing.
If you reside in a state with an IdentoGO office, you can schedule an appointment similar to in-state applicants. Visit https://uenroll.identogo.com/ to get started and enter the following unique service code: 27N4TH.

The total processing fee for out-of-state applicants visiting an IdentoGO office is $95.74. This fee is paid directly to IdentoGO during your appointment.

If your state does not have an IdentoGO office or you do not wish to visit a physical location, then select “Submit a Fingerprint Card by Mail” and complete the pre-enrollment information to submit a fingerprint card by mail. If you choose this option, you must obtain a fingerprint card from a local law enforcement agency and mail in your prints for processing.

The processing fee for fingerprint cards mailed to IdentoGO is $55.75. You must pay for this service online and use the shipping label provided to you.

Results for fingerprints submitted via mail will take longer to be processed. Processing times vary.

Should your digital fingerprint submissions be rejected by either the FBI or the Louisiana State Police for any reason, you will receive an email notification from IdentoGO/Idemia stating that you will need to schedule an appointment to be fingerprinted again. Should this occur, you must use the link provided in the email to schedule an appointment, and closely follow those instructions to avoid being charged additional fees.
