An inactive licensee cannot practice real estate, which includes the collection of referral fees.

Inactive licenses must be renewed annually.

Inactive real estate licensees are not required to fulfill any education requirements to renew their inactive license. However, if an inactive licensee completes the required annual continuing education during each year that they were inactive they may transfer to the active status at any time using the appropriate LREC form.

An inactive licensee may collect a commission on activity that was conducted while they were licensed in the active status.

For more information on the requirements to transfer from inactive to active, select the Transfer to Active Status page from the sidebar.
